HPBOSE Class 12 Results 2026 Declared: Pass Percentage Jumps to 92.02%, Girls Dominate Merit List Again

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has officially declared the Class 12 results for 2026, bringing cheer to thousands of students across the state. This year, the board recorded a remarkable improvement in overall performance, with the pass percentage rising sharply to 92.02%, compared to 86.16% last year.

Once again, girls have outshined boys, continuing a consistent trend of academic excellence in the state board examinations.

Over 81,000 Students Appeared

According to HPBOSE Chairman Dr. Rajesh Sharma, a total of 81,417 students appeared for the Class 12 exams conducted in March across Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. Out of these, 74,637 students successfully passed, while 3,071 students have been placed in the compartment category.

Girls Dominate Merit List

In a strong display of academic performance, 76 students secured positions in the Top 10 merit list, out of which 60 are girls and only 16 are boys.

Anshit Sharma emerged as the overall topper with an outstanding 99.2% marks, setting a high benchmark for future aspirants.


Stream-wise Toppers

Science Stream

  • 1st: Shayla Kashyap – 99%
  • 2nd (Joint): Sanchita Dhiman & Kashi Sharma – 98.6%
  • 3rd (Joint): Tamana Sharma, Nitin Kumar, Vaishali Thakur – 98.4%

Commerce Stream

  • 1st (Joint): Yashsvani Chauhan, Krishika, Ayan – 98.2%
  • 2nd (Joint): Anjali, Muskan, Jahanvi – 97.8%
  • 3rd (Joint): Akshima Pathania, Ridhima, Muskan Thakur – 97.6%

Arts Stream

  • 1st: Anshit Sharma – 99.2%
  • 2nd: Arushi – 99%
  • 3rd: Shamaya Barjatya – 98.8%

Government Schools Show Strong Improvement

A notable highlight this year is the improved performance of government schools, especially in rural areas. This reflects better academic support, focused teaching, and increased awareness among students and parents.


Re-evaluation & Compartment Exam Details

Students who are not satisfied with their marks can apply for:

  • Re-evaluation: ₹1,000
  • Rechecking: ₹800

The last date to apply is May 19, 2026, through respective schools.

Additionally, HPBOSE will conduct compartment exams for students who could not pass one or more subjects.


Celebrations Across Schools

Soon after the announcement, schools across Himachal Pradesh witnessed celebrations, with students sharing their success with teachers and classmates. The improved results have boosted confidence among students and educators alike.
