In a renewed push to strengthen its grassroots presence, the Congress party has rolled out an ambitious outreach initiative titled ‘One Village, One Night’, aimed at building direct connections with rural communities.

The announcement was made by District Congress Committee (DCC) president Suman Bharti on Friday after returning from a 10-day leadership workshop held in Dharamshala for district presidents from northern states.

Bharti shared that the initiative is designed to bridge the gap between party leaders and villagers by encouraging leaders to stay overnight in villages, engage in meaningful conversations, and understand local concerns firsthand. The program also aims to inform residents about government policies and the Congress party’s vision for development.

He emphasized that the workshop, led by senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, played a crucial role in energizing party workers and outlining a clear roadmap for future growth. According to Bharti, Gandhi’s guidance focused heavily on strengthening the party’s connection with people at the panchayat level.

As part of the strategy, Bharti confirmed that he will personally visit villages across the district, spend nights there, and interact directly with residents. This hands-on approach is expected to enhance trust and improve communication between the party and rural voters.

In addition, the District Congress Committee is set to expand its executive body in the coming days to further empower local leadership and improve organizational efficiency. Bharti also mentioned that the insights gained during the workshop have already been shared with block-level presidents to ensure coordinated efforts.

To further reinforce the campaign, special drives will be conducted across every block, ensuring that the party’s ideology and message reach even the most remote villages.

With this initiative, the Congress aims to rebuild its grassroots network and strengthen its presence ahead of upcoming political challenges.
