Global Leaders to Meet on Reopening Strait of Hormuz as Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron Lead Urgent Talks

In a crucial diplomatic move aimed at stabilizing global trade and energy supply chains, Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron are set to host a high-level virtual summit focused on reopening the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

According to reports, leaders from nearly 40 countries are expected to join the meeting, highlighting the urgency and global significance of the issue. The discussions will primarily center on maintaining the fragile ceasefire involving Iran and ensuring the safe passage of commercial vessels through one of the world’s most critical maritime corridors.

The office of the British Prime Minister has indicated that a key proposal on the table includes the formation of an international mission to help reopen the strait. This initiative is expected to be defensive in nature, involving coordinated military support that would be deployed once conditions on the ground allow.

Germany has also indicated its willingness to contribute to the mission, provided there is a clear legal framework in place. Officials suggest that Berlin could offer specialized capabilities such as mine-clearing vessels and maritime surveillance—areas where German forces have considerable expertise.
