Shimla, June 11:
A student from the National Law University, Ghandal, located in the Himachal Pradesh capital, was allegedly assaulted and threatened late at night in the Baluganj police station area. The incident occurred when the student had gone to visit a friend’s room. Following the complaint, police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation.

According to available information, Utkarsh Dwivedi, son of Satish Dwivedi and a second-year student from H-92 Devsar, Jhakhrawal, Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh), filed the complaint. He told the police that around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, he had gone to meet his classmate and friend Aviral Pawde. While there, he was reportedly confronted by three youths—Akshat Singh Parmar, Dhruv Mankotia, and Aviral—who allegedly began abusing him verbally without provocation.

Utkarsh claimed the trio assaulted him physically and issued death threats during the altercation. Alarmed by the incident, he immediately went to the Baluganj Police Station and reported the matter.

Based on his complaint, the police have registered a case under sections 126(2), 115(2), 351(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Given the seriousness of the incident, police have begun questioning the accused and are probing the possible motives behind the attack. It remains unclear whether the incident stemmed from a prior dispute or another underlying issue.
