Statue of Virbhadra Singh to Be Unveiled on June 23 at Shimla’s Ridge: Vikramaditya Singh
Shimla, June 11:
A statue of the late Virbhadra Singh, former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and widely regarded as the architect of modern Himachal, will be unveiled on June 23 at the historic Daulat Singh Park on Shimla’s Ridge. The ceremony coincides with his birth anniversary and will feature a special commemorative program attended by citizens and representatives from various political parties.
Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, the son of the late leader, shared that the event is intended to be strictly non-political in nature. Senior Congress leaders from Delhi, as well as opposition party representatives, including the Chief Minister, have been invited to attend. The program is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
Highlighting his father’s legacy, Vikramaditya Singh noted that Virbhadra Singh played a pivotal role in transforming Himachal into a modern and progressive state. “He left his mark on every corner of the state. His vision continues to guide us,” he said.
He urged the people of Himachal to gather in Shimla on June 23 and be part of this significant occasion, paying tribute to a leader who shaped the state’s developmental journey. “This is not just a moment to remember him, but an opportunity to reaffirm our collective commitment to the progress of Himachal,” he added.
Preparations for the event are underway in coordination with the district administration and Shimla Municipal Corporation to ensure everything is in place for a dignified and inclusive gathering.
