Shimla, May 25:
A serious road accident occurred on Saturday afternoon on the Dhalli-Hasan Valley Road under the Dhalli Police Station area in Shimla. An HRTC (Himachal Road Transport Corporation) bus, reportedly speeding while attempting to overtake, collided head-on with a truck. The impact also involved an Alto car and a pickup vehicle, leaving three people injured.

The injured have been identified as Ajay Kumar alias Rinku, a resident of Jalot village in Janedghat tehsil; Kaku Ram from Dehra Duhai village in Junga tehsil; and one other individual. All three were rushed to IGMC Shimla for treatment.

According to information provided by Dhalli Police, the accident occurred around 11:50 AM near a sharp curve in Hasan Valley. The complaint was lodged by Rahul, a resident of Theog, who was driving his pickup truck (HP92-1062) toward his home. Ahead of him was an Alto (HP63-2420), followed by a small truck (HP62-2516).

As they approached the curve, an HRTC bus (HP06A-5181) coming from the opposite direction attempted to overtake at high speed and collided directly with the truck. The force of the collision pushed the truck backward, causing it to crash into the Alto and Rahul’s pickup.

The chain-reaction crash left two individuals in the truck and the car seriously injured.

Rahul, who quickly recorded the vehicle numbers and informed the police, helped facilitate the initial investigation. The bus driver was identified as Vijay Pal (37), a resident of Shri Naina Devi in Bilaspur district.

The Dhalli Police have registered an FIR against the driver under Sections 281 and 125(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is ongoing, and all injured individuals are undergoing medical examination.
