Shimla, May 4: A spokesperson for the Himachal Pradesh government has clarified that no FIR has been registered against 900 government primary school teachers, as claimed in certain reports. The spokesperson dismissed such claims as baseless rumours.
He stated that FIRs have been filed only against five office-bearers of the Government Primary Teachers’ Association for allegedly staging a protest and assembling unlawfully without prior permission from the competent authority.
The spokesperson further added that Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed Education Minister Rohit Thakur to seriously consider the concerns raised by the association. A detailed discussion with the union will be held to resolve the teachers’ issues amicably.
