Shimla Police Constable Recruitment: 129 Women Pass Ground Test on First Day

Shimla, April 1 – The much-anticipated Himachal Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment process has officially kicked off in Shimla district, drawing a strong response from female candidates. Held at the Police Line Bharari, the first day witnessed active participation, with 403 women taking the physical efficiency test. Out of these, 129 candidates successfully cleared the ground test, marking an encouraging start to the recruitment drive.
This recruitment process is part of the state-wide selection for 1,088 constable posts, for which over 12,975 candidates have applied. The process, which will continue until April 11, has already been conducted in other districts, with Shimla being the latest to join the recruitment series.
New Changes in Recruitment Process
This year’s recruitment process features several new changes aimed at enhancing the fairness and efficiency of the selection. For the first time, the 100-meter race has been introduced as a mandatory test to better assess the physical capability of candidates. Additionally, the recruitment now includes a mandatory dope test for all participants to ensure fairness and uphold the spirit of sportsmanship.
Candidates are required to present their e-admission cards to participate in the ground test. Those who have not received their admit cards are advised to contact the Himachal Pradesh State Public Service Commission. Strict entry restrictions are in place, with the entry of outsiders prohibited to maintain discipline at the recruitment site.

Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying extra items, including mobile phones, to the recruitment venue. Moreover, parents and guardians are not allowed to enter the recruitment area to ensure a focused and organized process.
Robust Arrangements for Smooth Conduct
To ensure the recruitment process runs smoothly and fairly, the police administration has deployed a total of 120 personnel, including 12 police officers. The recruitment sessions commence daily at 8 AM at Bharari Police Ground and will continue until April 11.
