Shimla, March 21: In a highly charged atmosphere, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday delivered a forceful reply to the four-day-long budget discussion in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, marking a significant counterattack on the opposition BJP. The CM presented his government’s stance with a series of announcements and aggressive remarks against the former BJP-led administration, particularly blaming it for the rising debt burden on the state.
The budget discussion, which spanned 15.5 hours with 48 members from both ruling and opposition parties taking part, saw heated exchanges. He added that the BJP government had left the Congress administration with a debt burden of Rs 40,772 crore, along with an additional Rs 10,000 crore in employee arrears.
