Holi in Choti Kashi: A Vibrant Celebration With a DJ Flair
Holi celebration on Seri stage
Mandi, Mar 14 : Holi festival in Choti Kashi Mandi this year had a shocking start which made the city buzzing. After two decades, the Natives took the Holi at the Seri stage to another level, where thousands of participants experienced a never before kind of celebration with lively beats and performances.
Last time this event was celebrated together at the Seri stage was 20 years ago and this time it came with a completely young face with the holistic support of organizer Dharmendra Rana along with a passionate youth zeal team of Deep Kapoor, Kartavya Vaidya, Monika Thakur and Vineeta Thakur. Their visionary ideas made the commemoration a dazzling event for both the young and the old.
This year’s celebration boasted even better sound quality — which, not to put too fine a point on it, makes all the difference in an incredible Holi party. Over ten thousand listeners came to the Seri stage to join the celebration. Even the most reluctant couldn’t ignore the thumping beats and the palpable excitement that radiated through the atmosphere.
Guests stated they had never seen a more elaborate celebration of Holi on the Seri stage. Great sound, an energized crowd — it was a sight to behold. “Music was amazing, energy was off the charts! I have never seen such a grand Holi celebration in this part of the world, and I hope they keep celebrating it this way every year,” one of the participants said. There were unanimous demands to ensure the festival becomes a regular feature with bigger celebrations in the coming years.
The audio set-up was also another highlight of the event. This year, organizers used a 28-liner DJ system, a far cry from the previous 8-liner used in the past. The new setup was nearly four times more powerful than the previous one, and its deep bass and pristine sound reverberated not just across the Seri stage but throughout the city. Some didn’t even get to touch the stage but still were swept away by the music, leading to one of the most attended Holi bashes in the area.
Performances of the well-known DJs like Israeli DJ Magic, DJ Billi, DJ Bhanu, and others gathered all the enthusiasm. From their electric mixes to get everyone on their feet all day through the spread of the flower shower—their first in Holi history—the organisers ensured a Holi to remember. The flowers were arranged and dropped in such a way that they might dangle and rain down on guests, adding to the magical, colorful event.
Inspite of restricted time to host such extravagant event, main organizers Kartavya Vaidya and Monika Thakur expresses satisfaction with the participation and success of the event. “With very little time to plan, we did our best to give one great experience,” Vaidya said. “A bigger scale for this event will take place in the following years and we hope to receive the same support from the administration, police and residents of Mandi.”
The Holi festivities in Choti Kashi this time have raised the bar and as the city gears up for the next festival, one thing is for sure — this colorful celebration has come alive in a way that will remain in the memory of the city for as long as time survives.
