Jai Ram Thakur Claims CM Sukhu’s Announcement on Shivdham Funds is Fake

Mandi, March 6: Leader of opposition and former chief minister Jairam Thakur has reportedly claimed that the Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu made a baseless announcement of ₹100 crore release for the Shivdham project during his visit to Mandi for the inauguration of International Shivratri Festival.
Heralding that CM Sukhu’s recently declared ₹100 crore was a component of the already approved ₹250 crore by Asian Development Bank (ADB) by the Central Government, Jai Ram Thakur stated that this was completely false. Thakur added that the project is already 90% complete as ₹50 crore had been approved for tender work and ₹200 crore had not yet been spent. Sukhu’s announcement was misleading and merely reiterated part of the approved amount, he said.
Thakur also explained that while serving as chief minister in the past, he had got an ADB project worth ₹2,200 crores approved, which included ₹250 crores for the establishment of Shivdham. He stressed that no new funds had been contributed to this project from the present state government.
Thakur lashed out at the present-day state government, alleging that it was facing a financial crunch, with payment of even petty bills of ₹10,000 pending in the treasury and salaries of the employees being paid late. He alleged that the CM Sukhu was misleading the public by making untrue claims at a time when the state government is battling to fulfil even the basic financial commitments.
Thakur, in his shut up call, said CM Sukhu must refrain from making “false announcements” in the name of god and goddesses and else, the government will be expected to live up to its truces instead of immature remarks.
