Himachal BJP Forms 169 Mandals, Appoints 3380 Officials
Shimla, March 03, 2025: In a significant organizational achievement, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Himachal Pradesh has successfully completed the formation of 169 out of 171 Mandals ahead of upcoming elections in state. As per Sanjeev Katwal, BJP State Vice President and Election Co-in-charge, officials and working committee members have been appointed for all Mandals which he said has enhanced the party’s presence and outreach in the state.
On Monday, Katwal issued a statement explaining the completion of this important process, which involved the appointment of 20 officials in each Mandal adding up to 3,380 across the entire state. Additionally, a total of 8,112 workers have been given prominent positions in the organization, with each Mandal adding 48 members to its working committee.
“This is a big deal for the BJP in Himachal Pradesh. These appointments in all the Mandals, will bring a new kind of energy in the party work, which would further help us to prepare for the elections more dynamically and efficiently. “It is part of our strategy to strengthen the party from the grassroots level,” added Katwal.
But two Mandals — Keylong and Spiti — are also yet to be constituted owing to unanticipated weather-related hurdles. Both these Mandals come under the Lahaul-Spiti assembly constituency, which has been impacted by heavy snowing making it impossible to complete the process. Appointments, however, would soon be made in these two areas as well, once weather conditions improved, Katwal assured.
Katwal said the appointment process was done after prolonged deliberations with top-ranking party leaders. The leadership of BJP has given considerable importance for a solid grassroots structure to achieve better connect with the masses, effective campaigning and also helping to resolve local issues.

Katwal said the newly appointed officials would aid in advancing the party’s objective of winning the coming elections. “These appointments will ensure that the party is fully manned with capable hands, who are in-tune with the pulse of the people. We are confident about meeting these electoral challenges, with their help,” he added.
This emphasis on creating an effective and adaptive administrative framework also arrives as the state girds itself for pivotal elections.
