Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], January 10 (Diary Times): The Himachal Pradesh High Court recently heard the case regarding IPS officer Ilma Afroz’s position as Baddi’s Superintendent of Police (SP). In its latest order, the court directed that Afroz continue in her role. Previously, the court had requested the state government to provide a list of three IPS officers for the Baddi SP post, but the government failed to submit the panel. As a result, the bench, comprising Chief Justice GS Sandhawalia and Justice Satyen Vaidya, ordered that the current status remain unchanged, allowing Ilma Afroz to retain her position.

Petitioner’s counsel, RL Chaudhary, informed that during the previous hearing, the High Court had instructed the state government to provide a list of three officers for the Baddi SP position. However, since the government failed to submit the panel, the court decided to maintain the current status quo. The case is scheduled for its next hearing on February 24, where it will be heard by the bench of Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Sushil Kukreja.
