Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], January 10 (Diary Times): The third season of the Pro Himachal Premium Cricket League (Pro HPCL) is all set to begin on April 15, marking an exciting new chapter for the competition. With the addition of four new franchises, the league now boasts a total of 20 teams, each representing different districts of Himachal Pradesh, including Mandi, Solan, Kinnaur, Hamirpur, Shimla, Sirmaur, and Una. This expansion promises to enhance the competitive spirit and bring together talent from every corner of the state.

In a significant move, this season of the Pro HPCL will feature an entirely Himachali lineup, with each player representing the state. A total of 56 new players will be introduced, offering fresh talent a chance to shine on a prominent platform. Alongside showcasing local prowess, the league aims to raise awareness about the critical issue of drug abuse, furthering its commitment to promoting both sportsmanship and social responsibility.

Season 3 of Pro HPCL comes with an exciting increase in the prize pool, offering ₹9 lakh to the winning team and ₹4 lakh to the runner-up. In addition, the league’s future seasons will be played at a cutting-edge cricket ground under construction in Shimla by Pro HPCL. This state-of-the-art facility, nearing its completion, will be the first in Shimla designed to host both day and night matches, adding a new dimension to the league’s growing appeal.

Ajay Thakur, the founder of Pro HPCL, highlighted the league’s dual purpose of fostering sportsmanship while addressing important social challenges. “Pro HPCL is more than just a platform for showcasing talent; it actively contributes to raising awareness about drug abuse,” he stated. “With the backing of our dedicated franchise owners, we are determined to create a lasting, positive change in the community.”
