Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], January 10 (Diary Times): Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has strongly condemned the recent surge in threats and ransom demands aimed at business owners in Una district. Addressing a public gathering in Kangar, Agnihotri assured the community that the government would take decisive action against the perpetrators and emphasized its commitment to restoring order and security in the area.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri vowed to take swift and firm action against the growing threats and ransom demands targeting business owners, hotel operators, and officials in Una district. Speaking assertively, Agnihotri stated, “These acts of intimidation, whether from affluent individuals, hotel owners, or crusher operators, will not continue.” He stressed that the administration would tackle those undermining peace with full force, asserting, “No one will be cowed by bullets. We will use every means necessary to eliminate this threat and ensure such gangs do not thrive.”

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri called on the public to place their trust in the government’s resolve to tackle the issue of crime in Una. He reassured the citizens that every available resource would be mobilized to dismantle the criminal networks in the district. Agnihotri disclosed that reports had emerged of certain individuals succumbing to ransom demands, while others were still being threatened, highlighting the extent of the ongoing intimidation.

Recognizing the strategic location of Una near Punjab, Agnihotri emphasized that Himachal Pradesh, known for its peaceful nature, will not tolerate any disruption to its harmony. To demonstrate the urgency of the situation, he revealed that both the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police have been directed to prioritize this issue and take swift, decisive action to restore peace and security in the region.

Reassuring the residents of Una district, Agnihotri stated, “The administration has a strong and effective system in place to identify those behind such illegal activities.” He urged the public not to be alarmed, reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace. Agnihotri assured that strict measures would be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt law and order by running illicit operations in the district.
