Shimla: In an effort to promote the rich literary heritage and cultural diversity of Himachal Pradesh, the state government has introduced five prestigious state awards in various genres under the Language and Culture Department. Dr. Pankaj Lalit, Director of the Department of Language and Culture, shared this important update, highlighting the extension of the application deadline for these awards.
The state awards, designed to honor and encourage writers of Himachali origin, cover categories in Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Pahari, and Himachali culture. The deadline for applications has been extended to January 31, 2025.
Aspiring awardees are invited to submit four copies of their books published between 2021 and 2023, along with a brief biography. All submissions must be sent to the Director, Department of Language and Culture, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla-9, by the stipulated deadline.
These awards aim to recognize and celebrate the literary contributions of local authors, providing a platform to uplift the state’s cultural and literary traditions.
