Himachal: 307 grams of charas seized from a private bus traveling from Manali to Shimla; accused arrested under NDPS Act
Mandi, November 22: A case of charas being recovered from a private bus during a blockade under police station Aut has come to light. This bus was going from Manali to Shimla. During investigation, the police recovered 307 grams of charas from Hukam Chand, resident of Sorshan, Tehsil Karsog, District Mandi. The accused was immediately taken into custody and a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The police have arrested the accused and started further investigation.
The police say that during the blockade, the bus was searched on the basis of suspicious activities. During this, charas was recovered from Hukam Chand’s luggage. The matter is being thoroughly investigated as to where this charas was brought from and where it was to be delivered.
The police have appealed to the general public to immediately inform the police about any activity related to smuggling and use of narcotics. He said that with such actions, efforts are being made to put a strict rein on drug smuggling in the area.
This case is another example of police vigilance and strict action against drugs. The police have said that the campaign against drugs will be further intensified in the area.
