Himachal’s son Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu
Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar of Balh subdivision of Mandi district, serving in the Indian Army, has been martyred in an encounter between terrorists in Kishtwar, Jammu Kashmir. The martyr’s body will reach Kangnidhar helipad in Mandi city via helicopter at 10 am on Monday. From where the martyr’s body will be brought to his native village Barnog via army vehicle. After which the martyr Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar wrapped in the tricolor will be given a final farewell.

After the martyrdom of martyr Rakesh Kumar, a wave of mourning has spread across the state. CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and former CM Jairam Thakur and other leaders have paid tribute to Rakesh Kumar’s martyrdom through social media.
Let us tell you that martyr Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Barnog of Balh subdivision, was serving in the 2 Para of the Indian Army. Rakesh Kumar joined the Indian Army in 2001. Martyr Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar drank the cup of martyrdom while fighting terrorists at the age of 42.
Martyr Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar has left behind his mother Bhatti Devi, wife Piya, 14-year-old Yashasvi daughter and 9-year-old son Pranay. His martyrdom has caused a wave of mourning in the entire area including the family. SDM Balh Smritika Negi has confirmed the martyrdom of martyr Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar.
