Shimla, August 21: The capital is witnessing the havoc of rain, landslides are happening everywhere. The entire road has been damaged due to heavy landslide near the crossing on Chaura Maidan Boileauganj road on Tuesday night, due to which the local people are facing a lot of problems. On last Monday, August 19, due to rain, the Shimla Boileauganj road was closed due to landslide near the crossing and cracks appeared on Chaura Maidan Boileauganj road. At the same time, the road has been completely damaged due to the landslide again on Tuesday.

The administration had completely closed the Shimla Boileauganj road near the crossing by barricading. On Tuesday night, due to the hill cracking at the same place, all the debris and trees came on the road. Due to this, the rain shelter of the Public Works Department built on the roadside was completely destroyed. Now vehicles are going to Summerhill and Boileauganj via Chakkar. Local people have attributed this to the administration’s negligence and water leakage.

On the other hand, local people and shopkeepers of Boileauganj said that due to the damage of Boileauganj Chaura Maidan road, people are facing a lot of problems. School children and employees now have to go via Chakkar. Also, due to the road being broken, business is also getting affected. Earlier, people coming and going here used to stop here but now they are facing a lot of trouble. Local people and shopkeepers said that this landslide is the result of the administration’s negligence.

They said that a year ago also this place had sunk, for which a danga was installed here. Due to this danga, the culvert was closed. Due to the closure of the culvert, all the water kept leaking on the hill, the result of which has now come in the form of a landslide. Local people said that whenever any work is done, the officials should see that work at the ground level and not make plans only on paper.
