Shimla: Kargil Vijay Diwas program at Gaiety Theater, families of martyrs honored
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay, a state level program was organized by the Military Welfare Department of Himachal Pradesh Government at the Gaiety Theater in Shimla.
Shimla, July 26: On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay, a state level program was organized by the Military Welfare Department of Himachal Pradesh Government at the Gaiety Theater in Shimla. In which Health and Social Justice Empowerment Minister Colonel Dhani Ram Shandil participated as the chief guest and paid tribute to the martyred soldiers by remembering them. At the same time, Army Command Shimla also organized many activities on Kargil Vijay Diwas on 24 and 25 July at the Ridge Ground and Gaiety Theater in Shimla.
On this occasion, Health and Military Welfare Department Minister Colonel Dhani Ram Shandil said that the Indian Army had hoisted the flag of victory in the Kargil war in 1999. More than 500 soldiers of the Indian Army were martyred in the war that lasted for about three months, but the Indian Army did not give up and ultimately won. Shandil said that such programs need to be organized on a large scale to inculcate the spirit of patriotism in the youth.
On this occasion, Health and Social Justice & Empowerment Minister Colonel Dhani Ram Shandil also honored the soldiers who participated in the Kargil war and the families of the martyrs. Also, patriotic tunes were played by the police band in the Police Reporting Room Mall Road and a blood donation camp was organized by the Inner Wheel Club at the Ridge Ground in which Chief Minister’s IT Advisor Gokul Butail participated as the chief guest and encouraged people to donate blood.
