Hamirpur: Body of missing Honey Gupta alias Bhanu recovered, died due to drowning in a ravine
The body of Honey Gupta, who was missing since Wednesday, was found floating in the water by the local people on Thursday.
Hamirpur, July 18: Honey Gupta alias Bhanu, a resident of Ward No. 2 in Sujanpur assembly constituency of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh, died due to drowning in a ravine. The body of Honey Gupta, who was missing since Wednesday, was found floating in the water by the local people on Thursday.
According to the information received, Honey Gupta had gone to the civil hospital for his treatment on Wednesday, but disappeared from there. The family tried to find him but was unsuccessful. A missing report was lodged at Sujanpur police station late in the evening.
On Thursday morning, the body of a young man was seen floating in the water near Ward No. 2 Mukti Dham. The police was immediately informed about this. The police reached the spot and along with the family identified the body as Honey Gupta.
Sujanpur police station in-charge Mastram Nayak said that the body was taken into custody and post-mortem was done at Medical College Hamirpur and then handed over to the family. At first glance, this case seems to be a case of death due to slipping and falling into water, however the police is investigating all possibilities.
Family members said that Honey Gupta was mentally disturbed and was undergoing treatment at Sujanpur Hospital. The police is investigating the case.
