Thieves stole silver umbrella and cash worth Rs 9,000 from ancient temple in Shimla
Shimla, July 06: Thieves broke into an ancient temple in Malyana area under Dhali police station in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla. The thieves broke into the temple lock and stole a silver umbrella and cash worth thousands. This theft incident took place at Dhanu Devta temple in Chhabrog. Unknown people stole a silver umbrella and cash worth around nine thousand. This Dhanu Devta temple opens once in six months. Recently, when the temple committee opened the temple for cleaning, the theft was revealed.

The Dhanu Devta temple committee informed the Dhali police station in-charge that unknown people entered the Dhanu Devta temple and stole the silver umbrella and cash kept here. It is being told that this incident was carried out in the darkness of the night. Due to the absence of CCTV in the Dhanu Devta temple premises, the thieves could not be traced.
DSP City Ratna Negi said that a silver umbrella and cash worth nine thousand rupees were stolen from the Dhanu Devta temple premises.
In this regard, the Dhali police station in-charge has registered a case under sections 305, 331 (4) of the Indian Penal Code and action is being taken.
