A 35-year-old youth has committed suicide in Upper Kotla Kalan, adjacent to Una district headquarters of Himachal Pradesh. The deceased youth has been identified as Sanjeev Kumar son of late Gurmel Singh.
The fire department team of Una District reached the spot and brought the fire in the room under control. On the other hand, the Una police team also reached the spot and further investigation has been started.
According to complete information, Sanjeev Kumar was mentally ill and was undergoing treatment. Sanjeev Kumar had set himself on fire in his room on Thursday evening. At that time his mother and sister-in-law were present at home. Both of them raised noise, after which neighbors also reached the spot after hearing the noise and started extinguishing the fire.
Meanwhile, as soon as the information was received, the team of Una fire department also reached the spot and the fire in the room was controlled, but by then the young man had died due to burns.
The young man’s body was badly burnt by the fire. On the other hand, SP Rakesh Singh said that Una police is busy investigating the matter.
