Dhaniram Shandil: List of All Vacant Backlog Posts Reserved For The Disabled Will Be Ready by February 29
Shandil said that there is a provision of four percent reservation in government jobs for the disabled. He instructed the officers that the reservation roster for the disabled should be strictly followed at the time of recruitment, regularization and promotion. He said that other demands including providing facility of free travel for the disabled in government buses running on non-stop and routes outside the state are going to be considered sympathetically.

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister of Himachal Pradesh Government, Dr. (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil has directed all the departments to prepare the list of vacant backlog posts reserved for the disabled by 29th February.
Under the chairmanship of Shandil, a meeting was held with various departments on various issues related to the welfare of persons with disabilities in the State Secretariat on Monday. He also instructed the departments to fill all the vacant posts as per the notification of the Central Government. He said that the state government is paying special attention to filling the backlog posts, so that the disabled can be provided the benefit of early recruitment. Officials of the Blind Association, which had been struggling for a long time, were assured by Shandil that their demands would be fulfilled.

He said that the state government is committed to provide maximum benefits of various government policies and programs and central schemes being run for the disabled. On this occasion, Health and Social Justice and Empowerment Department Secretary M Sudha Devi, Scheduled Caste Other Backward Class Minority and Special Empowerment Director Pradeep Kumar Thakur and senior officers of various departments and members of the Blind Association were present.
