Senior Congress leader and former minister Kaul Singh Thakur has demanded a CBI inquiry into the wood washed away in the flood at Thunag in Mandi district.
Kaul Singh Thakur said in a press conference in Mandi today that roads were constructed in this area without permission in the previous government and for this thousands of trees were cut.
The same wood got washed away in the Thunag market in the flood, which caused huge devastation. He said – CBI should investigate the incident that took place in Thunag in which many people lost their lives.
If the officials of the forest department are found guilty in this incident, action should be taken against them and all the roads found under the forest conservation act should also be investigated.
Kaul Singh Thakur also said that the officers of the state are working with full honesty. He advised the leader of the opposition, Jairam Thakur, not to do politics in times of calamity and bring a relief package from the Center and take credit for it.
