Bihar: Bomb threat at Patna airport, search operations underway
A search operation was launched at Patna’s Jayaprakash Narayan airport after an unidentified person made a bomb threat. The police gave this information on Wednesday.
Responding to the call, a bomb disposal unit is conducting a search operation in the airport grounds, police said.
Patna airport director said, “A bomb threat call was received at Patna airport. Based on the information, the Airport Bomb Threat Assessment Committee did not find the call specific. State BDDS team investigated.”
More details about the incident are awaited.
In July last year, a Delhi-bound IndiGo flight (6e 2126) was reportedly stopped at the Patna airport after a passenger claimed that he had a bomb in his bag.
Bomb disposal squad and police inspected the scene after a man allegedly claimed that he had a bomb in his luggage. His bag was further checked but no bomb was found.
The passenger has been taken into custody and further investigation of the aircraft is underway. All the passengers were safely deboarded at Patna airport by Delhi bound Indigo flight (6E 2126).
