Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday said there are huge opportunities for French investors in India in areas such as manufacturing and infrastructure. The minister is here on an official visit to hold meetings with his French counterpart and top CEOs. “Huge delta of opportunities are there in India,” he said, while addressing the India France Business Summit here.
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal addressed the India-France Business Summit held in Paris, France. During this, he said that France and India have really been friends, allies and vibrant democratic countries working for global good.
Piyush Goyal said that the President of the Republic of France, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have strengthened the strategic partnership between the two countries, which has now completed 25 years. He said the two leaders have taken India-France relations to a higher level, with expanded engagement in trade, technology, tourism and investment. The Union Minister said that the friendship between the leaders and people of the two countries has the potential to achieve more and more for the global good.
The Union Minister said that both India and France share concern for a stable global economic order. He said that both the countries believe in building consensus and cooperation at the regional and global level. Piyush Goyal said that the business leaders of both the countries and the Indian community in France have worked tirelessly to further enhance the business and economic partnership. As a result of this, the bond of friendship and trust between India and France has been further strengthened.
Piyush Goyal appreciated that various cross sections of industrialists from manufacturing and services sector from India participated in the business summit. He said industrialists from India will share their experiences of carrying out and growing business activities in an economy that is growing rapidly and expanding both domestically and internationally.
The Union Minister said that the next 25 years to showcase India’s potential has been called Amrit Kaal or the Golden Age of India by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that this time creates a huge delta of opportunities which has never been seen till now in the global economic history of India. Commerce and Industry Minister also cited the example of India’s significant demographic dividend with its vast pool of talent and managerial and technical skills in this regard.
Piyush Goyal said that in the last 9 years, special attention has been given to the basic needs of Indian citizens and that is why India has emerged as a strong nation full of aspirations. He said that the seamless digital connectivity available in the country has helped in this task and India is now providing a huge opportunity for businesses across the globe. He said that India provides scale, speed and skill to the world.
The Union Minister said that India is rapidly expanding its international relations and the export of goods and services has increased very rapidly in the last 2 years. He said that the country’s export growth is expected to continue on its high growth path. Piyush Goyal also said that India has an infrastructure pipeline to strengthen operations and implementation in the country. He said that India is attracting investment and technology in the defense sector from across the world as indigenous manufacturing sector is being promoted.
Piyush Goyal said that innovation and technology are showing a new broad path to development in India, which has stability at its core. The green economy, he said, is emerging as an area of massive thrust for technology and investment. The Union Minister said that apart from this the government is also focusing on gender equality and gender equality in India.
Commerce and Industry Minister said that India and France will continue to promote their relations through dialogue, with trade and investment multiplying at an accelerated pace to take the growth journey forward. Quoting a statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that “when you join India’s development journey, India guarantees you development.”
