Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 16: Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that Rs 139.78 crore has been released by the Central Government for the construction of 22 bridges in five districts of the state. Vikramaditya Singh said that this amount will be spent on the construction of bridges in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Solan and Una districts. He said one bridge in district Chamba at a cost of Rs 3.19 crore, one bridge in district Kullu at a cost of Rs 7.11 crore, four bridges in district Solan at a cost of Rs 16.79 crore, five bridges in district Kangra at a cost of Rs 39.19 crore And 11 bridges will be constructed in Una district at a cost of Rs 73.50 crore.

He said that the state government has been raising issues of state interest with the Center from time to time keeping in mind the infrastructure development in the state, as a result of which the Center today approved various projects to strengthen the connectivity facility.

He said that he himself has been raising issues related to the welfare of the people of the state and the interests of the state with the Central Government many times. He said that he had also met Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari regarding this. Expressing gratitude on behalf of the State Government to the Central Government and Shri Gadkari for releasing funds of Rs 139.78 crore for various projects sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, he said that the construction of these bridges will provide better transportation facilities to the local people and it will also become easier for tourists to visit the state.
