Baddi, 08 September: In the case of murder of a woman in Barotiwala on 3 September, police has arrested the accused husband from Surat. After committing the murder, accused Mahesh immediately fled to Surat so that he could escape from the clutches of police but he forgot that “law has a long reach”. The accused has been identified as the deceased woman’s husband Mahesh Venvanshi, age 23 years, son Munnar Venvanshi, resident of Jitapur Behudawa, District Jaunpur, UP.
The shocking thing is that Mahesh killed his wife due to suspicion of her illicit relationship. Accused Mahesh suspected that his wife was having an illicit relationship with someone else. Due to this suspicion, he reached Baddi from Surat planning to kill her. On the afternoon of 02 September, Mahesh reached Baddi and after renting a room in Himunda Colony, he called his wife for a talk. During the conversation, Mahesh got angry and attacked his wife with a knife, killing her.
After committing the murder, Mahesh immediately fled to Surat, thinking that he would escape the clutches of the police. But the Baddi police took this heinous crime on priority and started chasing the culprit with the help of its cyber cell. The efficient strategy of the police and swift interstate operation closed all the escape routes of Mahesh and finally he was arrested from Surat. SP Baddi has confirmed the case.
