HP Govt: Five IAS Officers Became Secretaries, Government Is Preparing To Make Two ACS
Five IAS officers of the year 2008 batch have been promoted to the important post of Secretary by the Himachal Pradesh government. Following the recommendation of the screening committee, IAS officer Kadam Sandeep Basant, IAS officer Ashish Singhmar, IAS officer Amit Kashyap, IAS officer Rajesh Sharma and IAS officer Rakhil Kahlo have been promoted as secretaries. The five IAS officers have been given the important post of Secretary by the Himachal Pradesh Government only after completing a total of sixteen years of service in ISS.

With the five promoted IAS officers by the Himachal Pradesh government, the number of Secretary rank officers in Himachal Pradesh has now increased to eleven. Six secretary rank officers are already serving in the Himachal Pradesh government. Three days before his retirement, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) Chief Managing Director Amit Kashyap has been awarded the pay matrix of Supertime Scale of IAS Rank 14. The complete notification for promotion to five IAS officers was issued by the Himachal Pradesh Personnel Department on Thursday.
The promoted IAS officers will continue to work on their current posts till all future orders. On the other hand, among the IAS officers promoted to the rank of Secretary, Kadam Sandeep Basant is currently Divisional Commissioner, Capital Shimla, Amit Kashyap is Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC), Rajesh Sharma is Secretary to Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Rakhil Kahlon is Divisional Commissioner is appointed to the post of Mandi District Administration. Also, IAS officer Ashish Singhmar is currently out due to study leave.
Omkar Sharma and Anuradha Thakur are IAS officers of 1994 batch –
Complete preparations have begun to appoint Chief Principal Secretaries of Himachal Pradesh Government, Omkar Sharma and Anuradha Thakur as Additional Chief Principal Secretaries. After completion of thirty years of service in IAS, the Chief Principal Secretary is posted as Additional Chief Secretary. Omkar Sharma, Chief Principal Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Government, has the responsibility of Revenue, Tribal Development as well as Jal Shakti Department. Anuradha Thakur is serving as Additional Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on Central deputation. Both Omkar Sharma and Anuradha Thakur are serving as 1994 batch IAS officers.
Efforts to make Dr. Amandeep Garg and Pushpendra Rajput Chief Principal Secretaries in the Government of Himachal Pradesh intensified –
Efforts to make Dr. Amandeep Garg and Pushpendra Rajput, present secretaries of the Himachal Pradesh government, as chief principal secretaries of the Himachal Pradesh government have also been intensified. After completion of twenty-five years of service in IAS, the Secretary is made the Chief Principal Secretary. The current secretaries are Dr. Amandeep Garg and Pushpendra Rajput, serving as 1999 batch IAS officers. Present Secretary Dr. Amandeep Garg holds the charge of Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Personnel Department and Secretary Forest. Also, Secretary Pushpendra Rajput is serving as Additional Secretary in the Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi. On the other hand, Himachal Pradesh Government Principal Secretary Bharat Kheda and RD Nazim may also have to wait longer to become Additional Chief Secretaries.
