PM Modi inaugurated the country's longest cable bridge “Sudarshan Setu” in Gujarat.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the country largest bridge Sudarshan Setu in his home state Gujarat on Sunday. The 2.32 km long bridge Sudarshan Setu connects Okha mainland and Bet Dwarka in the state of Gujarat. India longest cable stay bridge has been built at a cost of Rs 978 crore. Sudarshan Setu Bridge was earlier known as Signature Bridge but now it has been named Sudarshan Setu Bridge. PM Modi inaugurated the Sudarshan Setu after offering prayers at the Dwarkadhish temple in Bet Dwarka.

Earlier, people had to go by boat to go to Dwarkadhish, but now with the construction of Sudarshan Setu Bridge, devotees will not have to face such difficulties in getting darshan.
The foundation stone of this Sudarshan Setu Bridge was laid by the Center in the year 2017. Solar panels have been installed on the upper parts of this bridge which generate one megawatt of electricity.
Sudarshan Setu is a uniquely designed bridge, with a footpath decorated with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna on both sides. Solar panels have also been installed on the upper part of the footpath of Sudarshan Setu Bridge, which generates one megawatt of electricity. This bridge is going to make transportation easier and will significantly reduce the travel time of devotees traveling between Dwarka and Bet-Dwarka. Before the construction of Sudarshan Setu, pilgrims had to depend on boat transport to reach Bet Dwarka. This iconic bridge is also going to be a major attraction for the tourists visiting Devbhoomi Dwarka.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and MP CR Patil was also present.
