Elegant Chef India has been started at the State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM) on the lines of Master Chef. Not only this, Himachali people who are fond of cooking will also be able to participate in the second season.In the first season, the students of Rajya Sansthan won a lot of accolades by preparing fusion dishes of coarse grains. At the same time, Bholu, a student of the institute, has won the first trophy of the season, while now the second season will be organized in a grand manner in the month of September.

The first season of Elegant Chef India Year of Military-2023 was organized on Monday at the State Institute of Hotel Management, Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The Elegant Chef India Competition will be organized twice a year, in the coming times the cooking enthusiasts of Himachal will be able to participate in it.
Deputy Director of Tourism Department, Kangra and Principal of SIHM, Vinay Dhiman participated in the competition as the chief guest. Rajan Sharma, HOD of the institute, presided over the competition. Under this, in the first season, a competition for eating coarse grains was organized among the students of the state institute. In this, the students of the institute, showing their skills, prepared different types of dishes with fusion.
Professional chefs Roshan Thakur, Pankaj and Arvind from famous hotels in Dharamshala and USA were present in the role of jury for tasting the dishes. During this, the students who stood first, second and third in the competition were honored by the chief guest by giving them prizes.

Mr. Arvind Sous Chef who is presently working in Rooh Restaurant situated at San Francisco California USA has organized a cooking competition under the banner of Elegant Chef India on 24 April 2023 among the student of Hotel Management (SIHM) Dharmshala which is jointly sponsored by Department of Tourism Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and Ministry of tourism Govt. of India. 10 students of SIHM participated in the event. The Management of SIHM Dharamshala thanks Mr. Arvind for his contribution and efforts for organizing this event.
First trophy of the season in the name of Bholu-
The first prize of the first season went to Bholu, second prize to Amit Kumar and third prize to Mukesh Kumar. Santavana Awards were given to Aryan Pathania, Dedicated Bhagat, Anirudh, Vansh Acharya, Rohit, Ankush Bhardwaj and Shagun Mehta.

On this occasion, Deputy Director and Principal Vinay Dhiman said that to enhance the skills of the youth, such competitions will be organized in the coming times as well. This event will become a landmark, will also prove to be an effective step for coarse grains.
Vinay Dhiman said that youth are not able to get proper nutrition in today’s time, they have to take steps in this direction. The students of SHIM will also get the degree of Jawaharlal Nehru University JNU, for which the MoU has been signed. He said that a grand institute of SHIM is being built here, which will create a distinct identity across the country. Teachers, staff and students were also present on this occasion.
