During this, former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that we have brought true promises, not guarantees. He said that the false guarantee given by the Congress to the public has not been fulfilled till now. He said that the Congress remained in power for 25 years in Shimla Municipal Corporation also.

The BJP on Sunday released its 21-point election manifesto for the municipal elections in capital Shimla. In this, it has been promised to provide free water up to 40 thousand liters to the residents of the city every month and reduce the garbage bill by half. Along with this, it has been announced to implement one corporation, one tax system in the city.
Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, MP Suresh Kashyap and MLA Sukhram Chowdhary, who was made in-charge for the corporation elections, released this manifesto of the party named Drishti Patra. Claimed that the five-year tenure of the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporation has been heavy on the last 25-year tenure of the Congress.
In the last five years, so many works have been done in the city, which have not been done in the last 25 years. Roads in the city were widened, footpaths were made, new parks and parking lots were built, escalators were being installed and a new tunnel was also being built in Dhali.
The city has been rejuvenated in five years and now the party will go among the public for these works only. The promises made in the manifesto will be kept in public. These will also be completed when the government is formed again in the Municipal Corporation.

Jairam Thakur said that Bharatiya Janata Party has been in power only for 5 years, but in the last five years, from widening the roads to completing the water system, we have worked in the interest of the general public. He said that under the Smart City Mission, the face of Shimla city has changed and only 37 kilometers of footpaths have been constructed in the city. Apart from this, work is going on at 200 shops. Along with this, 45 parks have also been built. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party did the work of saving and changing the face of Shimla city.

1. Water bill will not come up to 40 thousand liters per month.
2. To free the city residents from the trap of taxes, “One Corporation One Tax” system will be implemented. Currently will waive up to 50% of garbage bills.
3. Will provide convenience to the public by making accessible toilets in every ward/locality.
4. Parking will be in every locality and the vehicle will be parked properly.
5. According to the commitment of the government of our party, the poor Dhara owners will be given the right of “Jahan Dhara, Wahi Makan” to the poor Dhara owners built on the land for 2 years.
6. Municipal Corporation will have the right to remove dangerous trees in a time bound manner.
7. Our government has given convenience to lakhs of people by taking the decision to install electricity meters without NOC. On the same basis there will be no NOC for water meters also.
8. Will eliminate disparities in fees for license of shops and one shop one unit system will be implemented and there will be only one license.
9. Will run a mass movement against de-addiction and will also make the people of Shimla aware.
10. Will make ‘open gym’ in every locality of every ward, by which every section of the society will be made healthy and strong.
11. All Municipal Corporations will bring the area under CCTV cameras, so that crimes will be monitored and criminals will be caught and brought under the clutches of the law.
12. A task force will be formed to remove the problems faced by the public due to the increasing cases of stray dogs and monkeys being aggressive, which will change the present system and take concrete measures. Will involve NGOs and other social organizations.
13. Shimla Municipal Corporation will try to build night shelters and labor hostels by selecting more places in the area, so that daily wage earners, laborers and self-employed people can get shelter.
14. Marriage palaces (marriage houses) will be constructed at various places in Shimla city, in which all kinds of facilities will be available.
15. Will promote solar system and install solar panels on as many roofs as possible on subsidy basis.
16. According to the plan of the BJP government, the work of the vegetable market-grain market to be made in the garden of Dadni will be completed soon.
17. Drainage system will be arranged in all the wards so that dirty water does not seep into public places.
18. Shimla Municipal Corporation will form a committee of senior citizens and intellectuals under the chairmanship of the mayor, who will have the right to act on their suggestions. On the suggestions given, the government will be bound to supply funds for the works of development.
19. Will make concrete efforts to implement Central Government’s 1 thousand 546 crore multi-dimensional scheme ‘Pavartmala Yojana’ which will greatly benefit the local citizens and tourists.
20. Ambulance road will be made till all the villages till the last end of Shimla city and every village.
21. Shimla Corporation will make all the ‘fire hydrants’ functional in the area, so that any fire incident can be controlled quickly.
