Teams of Solan District Police Administration of Himachal Pradesh have achieved success by busting a big gang of drug smuggling.

Solan Police has arrested a main accused of chitta smuggling from Punjab. Solan Police teams have taken the entire action on the trail of four accused already arrested in chitta smuggling case.

According to teams of Solan Police, the main accused of chitta smuggling, Harjot Singh of Punjab, Uff Sahib Garcha S/o Preet Pal Singh, aged thirty-one years, resident of Ludhiana, has been arrested by the special teams of Solan Police from Kharar area of Punjab.

Harjot Singh of Punjab, the main accused in chitta smuggling, has been produced in the Himachal Pradesh High Court and taken on police remand for five days.

On the other hand, the four previously arrested accused Rahul, Vijay, Narendra and Mohit are still in Himachal Pradesh High Judicial custody. Investigation into the allegation is ongoing. Entire matter of complete arrest has been confirmed by SP Solan Gaurav Singh to Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma.

Know entire Chitta smuggling case of Solan district –

Last year, on November 18, the special team of Solan district had arrested two youths with 7.34 grams of chitta in a guest house located on Mall Road, Solan. During interrogation of both the accused, it was revealed that 3 criminal cases were already registered against Vijay, the main accused in the Chitta smuggling.

Both the Chitta accused arrested from Mall Road had bought 7.34 grams of Chitta from Chitta smuggler Mohit, resident of Kharar, by transacting money through their middleman friend Narendra, son of Raghuveer Singh, resident of Jaunaji Road.

After this, accused Narendra was arrested by Solan Police on 23rd November on charges of supplying Chitta to accused Mohit Lakhanpal, aged twenty-eight years, son of Dharampal, resident of Kharar, Punjab.

Mohit Lakhanpal, accused of chitta smuggling, was smuggling chitta for more than seven years. Theft cases are also registered against accused Mohit Lakhanpal. Strict interrogation of accused Mohit Lakhanpal by special teams of Solan Police and investigation of the entire Chitta smuggling network revealed that the main leader of the Chitta network is accused Harjot Singh. Which is a big chitta supplier.

In the investigation so far, cases of smuggling of 320 grams of chitta have been registered against Harjot Singh in Kharar City police station of Punjab and 35 grams in Zirakpur police station. So far, more than 80 youth from Himachal Pradesh have been found in contact with the chitta smuggling network.
