Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Nahan, April 10: Sirmour Police’s campaign to ban opium cultivation is continuing. In the latest case, 272 opium plants have been recovered from the field of a person in village Jabal Ka Bagh located near Sirmour district headquarters.

According to the information, police raided the person’s house on the basis of secret information and found that the person was also cultivating opium under the guise of farming.

The police took samples from the recovered plants and destroyed the remaining opium plants by setting them on fire.

The accused has been identified as Sanjeev Saini alias Sanju, resident of village Jabal Ka Bagh Nahan.

Accused Sanjeev Saini has been arrested under ND&PS Act in Police Station Sadar Nahan. Further investigation regarding the matter is going on.
