Sirmour News : An exhibition on coarse grains has been set up at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dhaulakuan in Sirmour district
The United Nations has declared the year 2023 as the International Millet Year, due to which millets are being popularized and farmers are being motivated to connect them with its cultivation.
A demonstrator has been set up at the Agricultural Science Center Dhaula Kuan in Sirmour district of the state. In this, from March to July, coarse grains like Bajra, Rongi, Finger millet, Fox tail millet, green and red amaranth are displayed in order of months. has been applied.
Dr. Pankaj Mittal, in-charge of the Agricultural Research Center, said that these millets have been kept in the center’s farm house for the purpose of providing information to the farmers including the employees of the agriculture department and they have been planted with the method of natural farming.

Agricultural scientist Dr. Saurabh Sharma told that while millets are healthy, their specialty is that they are easily produced and are helpful in curing many diseases and this is the reason that the Government of India encouraged coarse grains.
