Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 19: Two more cases of suicide have been reported in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Yesterday, the 27-year-old son of a former IAS officer committed suicide by hanging himself. Now two incidents of suicide have come to light in the Shimla city. In one case, a 25-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging himself, while in the other case, a 40-year-old woman committed suicide by consuming poison.

According to Shimla Police, a 25-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging himself on Monday evening. A 25-year-old youth was found dead in his rented accommodation in Kelti of Bharari area under Sadar police station area. He was hanged. The deceased youth has been identified as Rohit son of Dhaniram, who was originally a resident of Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh (UP). Rohit was living with his parents in Shimla. He was posted as a house keeper in a prestigious private convent school in the Shimla city.

According to information received from Shimla Police, Rohit was alone in his rented house at the time of the incident. His parents had gone to a wedding ceremony in Bijnor. Rohit had also returned to Shimla from Bijnor two days ago. On Monday, his family members were contacting him on his mobile. When there was no contact, the family informed the landlord. Police were called to the spot when Rohit room was locked from inside. When the Shimla police broke the door, they found Rohit hanging.

On the other hand, on Monday, a 40-year-old married woman swallowed poison in Seri village of Dhali police station area of Shimla city, due to which she died. The deceased woman has been identified as Sangeeta wife of Bhup Singh Thakur.

A Shimla Police official said that post-mortem of the dead bodies is being conducted. Prima facie it has been found to be a case of suicide. In this regard, a case has been registered under CrPC 174 in the concerned police station areas and action is being taken. He said that in both the cases no suicide note was recovered from the spot.
