The commemorative stamps issued by Shri Ram Temple of Ayodhya have reached GPO Shimla. On January 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched six commemorative postage stamps in the name of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. In Himachal Pradesh, it is available only in the Philately Bureau of the General Post Office (GPO) located at Scandal Point, Shimla. The postal stamp has been specially designed incorporating the soil and water of Ram Janmabhoomi. This is attracting people to buy it. Tickets cost only Rs 100.

In this postage stamp, pictures of Shri Ram riding in the boat with the boatman, eating Shabari’s berries, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, Garuda, Hanuman and Shri Ganesh are also engraved.

Philately incharge of GPO Shimla, Sachin Chauhan told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that the fragrance of sandalwood and soil is felt in this postage stamp. There is good demand for them.

Mohan Lal Sharma, Senior Postmaster, GPO Divisional Office, Shimla, said that there is a demand for tickets among the tourists visiting Shimla including all the districts of Himachal. For this, its poster has also been put up at the main counter of the post office.

GPO Shimla sold 80 postage stamps of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in fourteen days –
