More than 400 players from across the state are participating in the ongoing two-day state level sub-junior judo competition in Shimla. State Judo Association General Secretary Ramesh Chauhan said that the purpose of the competition is to keep children away from drugs and attract them towards sports.
He said that proper sports infrastructure has not been made available in the state for Judo and there are only two coaches in only ten districts. Due to which the players are also facing problems.
He said that the selected players would represent the state in the national level competition.
He said – State level judo competition was held, there are 34 state level competitions of junior-sub junior. So about four hundred boys and girls are participating in it. Our main motive remains that maximum two youths and children in Shimla should get involved in some of these activities, which require more energy, instead of drugs.
Judo is games, this sport is of this kind and children get the benefit of a sport because of this, brother, they get benefit in admission or for further service, the second benefit is that they are physically fit. There has been some development in the judo match. . I want to give this one message to the government as well as to whatever department they have that something should come out of excess and the basic facilities like mats and halls, then we should get all these necessary facilities from the department.
