Shimla News : A group of poets set out on the Shimla Kalka track, today and tomorrow they will travel on the heritage track in memory of Baba Bhalku
Today, a unique confluence of literature was seen in a train running on the World Heritage Shimla-Kalka rail line when a group of writers and poets of the country set out on a journey staging poems.
In the last five years, the Himalayan Literature, Culture and Environment Forum has been organizing this kind of journey in the memory of Baba Bhalku on the heritage track so that his contribution towards making the Shimla-Kalka track of Baba Bhalku can be remembered.
While honoring the poets, Health Minister Dhanram Shandil also traveled with them in the train. The convenor of the forum, SR Hanot, told that in this two-day event, on the first day this group of poets will visit Shimla by train and on the second day by bus to Baba Bhalku’s village.
He said that during this period separate sessions of poems would be organized at every station. The first day of the session was named after Shimla railway station. Hanot told that the main purpose of the yatra is to remember the great contribution made by Baba Bhalku, a man of rare talent, in the preservation of the Hindustan-Tibet route and the Shimla-Kalka railway.
Himalaya Sahitya Sanskriti Manch, which has been organizing Baba Bhalku Smriti Yatra regularly for five years. The main purpose of this visit was to pay tribute to our hero Babasaheb who has contributed a lot in the Hindustan-Tibet road as a laborer and a citizen and it is also believed that when the British engineer was not able to survey the Kalka-Shimla rail Bhalku had helped a lot in this and in this way Baba Bhalku had contributed a lot for the Shimla-Kalka railway line.
