Shimla Loksabha Candidates: Vinod Sultanpuri & Suresh Kashyap
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, May 13:Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Suresh Kashyap and Congress Party candidate Vinod Sultanpuri filed their nominations on Monday from Shimla parliamentary constituency in the seventh and final phase of voting for the Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections to be held on June 1 in Himachal Pradesh.Also, both the candidates have claimed their respective victories.Let us tell you that both the candidates are millionaires, And the most important thing is that Kasauli MLA and Congress candidate Vinod Sultanpuri is many times ahead of the BJP candidate in terms of assets.
Due to which Vinod Sultanpuri has declared his movable and immovable assets as more than nine crores and BJP candidate Suresh Kashyap has declared his movable and immovable assets as more than four crores.
Forty-two year old Vinod Sultanpuri is the current MLA from Kasauli assembly constituency of Solan district and for the first time he has been given a Lok Sabha election ticket by the Congress party.The only reason behind giving him the ticket is his late father KD Sultanpuri ji who had created a record by winning elections from Shimla parliamentary constituency six times in a row. Along with filing nomination on Monday, Vinod Sultanpuri gave details of his income to the Election Commission in which he has movable assets worth Rs 65 lakh and his wife has movable assets worth Rs 17.76 lakh.Vinod Sultanpuri’s movable assets worth Rs 65 lakh include his jewelery worth Rs 14 lakh, a gun worth Rs 35 thousand and two cars, including a luxury car.He also has a Toyota Fortuner worth Rs 45 lakh.Apart from this, he has given details of immovable property worth Rs 8.40 crore. Vinod Sultanpuri has liabilities of Rs 73.87 lakh. There is information about house loan of Rs 46.94 lakh in liabilities. He studied law from Pune Law College in the year 2006
Fifty-three year old Suresh Kashyap is the current MP from Shimla parliamentary constituency. He was elected MP by winning the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.Suresh Kashyap is also a millionaire and according to the details submitted to the Election Commission, he is the owner of movable property worth Rs 62 lakh 60 thousand and his wife is the owner of movable property worth Rs 60 lakh 49 thousand.
Under movable assets worth Rs 62 lakh 60 thousand, Suresh Kashyap has two cars in his fleet, 100 grams of gold jewellery, Rs 18 thousand in hand cash.
Besides, Suresh Kashyap has immovable property worth Rs 2.5 crore and his wife has immovable property worth Rs 52 lakh.
Details of liabilities of Suresh Kashyap are Rs 51 lakh. Suresh Kashyap has obtained MPhil degree in Public Administration from Himachal Pradesh University.
