Shimla: Independent MLA reaches High Court after resignation not accepted
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, April 10: The petition of three independent MLAs was heard today in a bench headed by Chief Justice M. Ramachandra Rao in the Himachal Pradesh High Court. Hearing the petition, the Chief Justice has issued a notice to the Assembly Secretariat and has been asked to file the reply to this notice by April 24.

Three independent MLAs Hoshyar Singh, Krishan Lal Thakur and Ashish Sharma have filed a petition in the Himachal Pradesh High Court against the Legislative Assembly Speaker not accepting his resignation and have demanded that the resignation be accepted from March 22.

The MLAs say that they have resigned without any pressure. The three independent MLAs had resigned on March 22 and had also staged a sit-in protest outside the assembly premises on March 30.
