Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 14: In order to improve the quality in education, Himachal government has taken a U-turn on the order of rationalization of lecturers in government schools of Himachal.

A day earlier, the Director of Higher Education had transferred 182 surplus lecturers to other schools. Of these, there are 19 schools where there is zero enrolment. That means there is no child to teach, but the lecturer is present.

Now, before the Lok Sabha elections, under pressure from teachers’ organizations, the Himachal government has withdrawn this decision.

On Wednesday, Director of Higher Education Dr. Amarjeet Kumar Sharma issued an office order withdrawing the order of March 12 and said that there is no need for further action in this regard.
