Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has today unveiled the new Edition of ‘Himachal Pradesh Land Code’. In the new edition, laws related to land related matters of revenue and other departments have been compiled.

Speaking at the unveiling, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the first edition of the Himachal Pradesh Land Code was published in 1992 and had not been amended since 1992. Even before this, many laws related to land have been amended and many guidelines have been issued. He said that a total of 64 acts, 59 rules and about 340 notifications and guidelines related to revenue and other departments have been compiled in this New Edition of ‘Himachal Pradesh Land Code’.

He said that this New Edition of ‘Himachal Pradesh Land Code’ will be made available in every Deputy Commissioner, SDM and Tehsil offices of Himachal Pradesh so that departmental officers can easily get updated information about various acts, rules, notifications and guidelines.

He said that this New Edition of ‘Himachal Pradesh Land Code’ will help them in resolving revenue related matters efficiently and people will also get relief due to quick redressal of land related complaints.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the present government in its very first budget had assured to compile a new land code in the Revenue Department and now it has been published.

The Chief Minister said that Revenue Lok Adalats are being organized in the last two days of every month for speedy disposal of land related cases, which has also yielded positive results.

He said that from October 2023 till now, a record 89091 Intakal and 6029 Takseem pending cases have been resolved on the spot through Revenue Lok Adalats.

On the occasion of the unveiling, Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Himachal Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar, MLAs Ravi Thakur, Harish Janartha and Ajay Solanki, Principal Advisor (Information Technology and Innovation) Gokul Butel, Additional Chief Secretary Omkar Chand Sharma and all other senior officials were present.
