Himachal: Revenue Officers Will Have To Settle Cases Within Stipulated Time, Land Revenue Amendment Act Notified

In Himachal Pradesh, summons can now be served to all revenue officers through WhatsApp, e-mail and SMS. The Land Revenue Amendment Bill was passed by the Government of Himachal Pradesh during the monsoon session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly. The Land Revenue Amendment Bill has been published in the Gazette on Friday. Now under the Land Revenue Amendment Bill Act in Himachal Pradesh, all the revenue officers have been asked to settle all the cases within four months. Apart from this, with a desire to expedite the entire process of land alienation proceedings, a proposal was also passed to re-establish the concept for public notice.

Along with appealing to all the revenue officers of Himachal Pradesh, an important proposal has also been made to make a provision for waiver of delay in all other revenue matters. Under which the applicant has been directed to present all the reasons for delay before the competent authority. In order to make the Land Revenue Amendment Bill Act more effective and also to find a complete solution to all the difficulties and problems being faced to the people by presenting all the reasonable reasons for delay in disposal of revenue cases in Himachal Pradesh, the Land Revenue Amendment Bill Act to make changes in the law was also proposed in the proceedings of the House during the Himachal Pradesh Assembly session. Under the present Land Revenue Amendment Bill Act, no time limit was prescribed to settle all the revenue cases.

In Himachal Pradesh, Women Will Especially Have To Pay Four Percentage Stamp Duty On Purchasing Land Worth Up To Rs 80 Lakh

On the other hand, the Himachal Pradesh government has provided great relief to women by making major amendments in the stamp duty on purchase of land. Due to which now women will have to pay four percent stamp duty on purchasing land up to Rs 80 lakh, before this Act this exemption was given only up to Rs 50 lakh. Under the old Act, a provision of six per cent for purchases of Rs 50 lakh and eight per cent for purchases above Rs 50 lakh has been made for men. Apart from this, the fee of General Power of Attorney (GPA) has also been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 1000, from Rs 150 to Rs 1500 and from Rs 200 to Rs 2,000. Also, stamp duty has been increased to Rs 5000 on minimum amount of Rs 1000. The Himachal Pradesh Government had also introduced the same amendment proposal in the Stamp Bill in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly. The Stamp Duty Bill has been published in the Gazette on Friday.
