Rajiv Gandhi Start-Up Scheme: Guarantee of Forty Thousand Fixed Income After E-taxi Permit of Himachal Government

Under the Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Startup Scheme, the process of sorting out all the applications received for giving e-taxi permits to the unemployed youth of Himachal Pradesh has been started. All the district and sub-division level regional transport officers of Himachal Pradesh have been entrusted with the responsibility of sorting the applications. After the sorting process of all the applications received, all the district and sub-division level regional transport officers are going to prepare their respective reports and send them to the Himachal Pradesh Transport Directorate. The target of issuing e-taxi permits to all applicants by March 31 has been set by the Himachal Pradesh Transport Directorate. In the first phase of Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Startup Scheme, 500 e-taxi permits are going to be given by the end of March. Himachal Pradesh Transport Department has so far received applications for e-taxi permits from more than three thousand unemployed youth.

Himachal Pradesh Transport Directorate has set a target of giving permits in the second phase of Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme to all those e-taxi applicants who are not given permits in the first phase. Himachal Pradesh Transport Department has given instructions to all district and sub-division level regional transport officers to complete the sorting process of all received applications within the next 15 days. All the district and sub-division level regional transport officers are the first ones to do the document verification process of all the applicants. After completing the screening process, driving test of all the applicants is going to be taken. The applicant himself is going to be tested by taking a driving test.

There are strict instructions by the Transport Department of Himachal Pradesh Government that whichever applicant is going to apply for e-taxi permit, that applicant will have to pass the driving test by driving his e-taxi. If the applicant hires another person or enters into any agreement to drive the e-taxi, then the e-taxi permit of that applicant is going to be cancelled.

Himachal Pradesh government will give 50 percent subsidy on purchase of e-taxi under Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme –

Under the Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Scheme, the Himachal Pradesh government is giving 50 percent subsidy to the unemployed youth of the state for purchasing e-taxi. Also, Himachal Pradesh government is guaranteeing fixed income to the applicants who obtain e-taxi permit.

E-taxi will be installed in all government departments –

The aim has been to provide a fixed income to the unemployed youth of Himachal Pradesh by hiring e-taxis to the government departments, local authorities, autonomous bodies, boards, corporations, government undertakings and all other institutions of Himachal Pradesh. The Himachal Pradesh government has set a target of providing 20 thousand to 40 thousand monthly earnings to the e-taxi driver youth.

New e-taxi starting from Rs 8 lakh –

In the electric car market of India, the starting price of cars of various e-taxi companies has been kept between eight lakh to eighteen lakh. Also, the price of luxury electric car has been fixed at Rs 40 lakh to Rs 80 lakh in the Indian car market. If the unemployed youth of Himachal Pradesh buy an electric vehicle worth Rs 18 lakh to buy an e-taxi, then a subsidy of Rs 9 lakh is going to be given on the e-taxi worth Rs 18 lakh.
