Punjab News (DIARYTIMES)- A big accident took place in Ludhiana in Punjab on Sunday morning. Due to poisonous gas leaking in Gyaspura area, 9 people died, while 11 people were injured. As soon as the news of this accident was received, the teams of police and administration reached the spot and with the help of the fire department, the injured were admitted from ambulance to the hospital. The police have sealed the entire area as a precautionary measure and have started investigating the matter. Although this poisonous gas has leaked from a factory, or from sewerage, it has not been cleared yet.
Rising death toll-
SDM Swati of Ludhiana West told that, ‘Definitely, it is a case of a gas leak. NDRF team is present on the spot to evacuate people and will conduct rescue operation. In this incident 9 people died and 11 are ill. On the other hand, ADCP Sameer Verma reached the spot and told that, ‘5-6 people who had fainted have been taken to the hospital. This area is being sealed. NDRF team has been called on the spot and since then the rescue operation is going on.
CM Bhagwant Mann took cognizance-
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has also taken cognizance of this incident of gas leak in Ludhiana’s Gyaspura. In a tweet, CM Mann said, the incident of gas leakage from the factory in Gyaspura area of Ludhiana is very sad. Police, government and NDRF teams are present on the spot.
