Political Turmoil in Himachal: Mukesh and Anirudh Met Sonia-Priyanka, Informed About Damage Control

Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 05: Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and Cabinet Minister Anirudh Singh met former Congress National President Sonia Gandhi and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi in New Delhi on Monday evening. Both the leaders have also informed about the damage control done in Himachal Government and Congress Party organization amid the political turmoil in Himachal Pradesh. Expressing confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Lok Sabha elections have also been discussed.

Congress party sources said that Mukesh Agnihotri and Anirudh Singh, who reached Delhi from Shimla, have also advocated for not making any changes in the Himachal government and the Congress party organization. The high command has been given detailed information about the political developments taking place in Himachal Pradesh after Congress Party defeat in the Rajya Sabha elections. Along with this, both the leaders have also told how the official candidate of Congress, Abhishek Manu Singhvi has been defeated in the Rajya Sabha elections. Six rebel MLAs have caused harm to the Congress party. Congress party observers DK Shivkumar, Bhupendra Hooda along with Bhupesh Baghel and Rajiv Shukla have reached Shimla and discussed with all the MLAs. The resentment of Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh has also been addressed. All differences are now forgotten and work is being done to strengthen the Himachal government and the Congress party organization.

On the other hand, Congress party sources said that the Congress party high command has also given instructions to create better coordination between the Himachal government and the Congress party organization.

Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh reached Chandigarh from Delhi late on Monday night after four days. On February 29, Vikramaditya Singh suddenly reached Chandigarh from Shimla to meet the Six rebel Congress MLAs. On March 1, Vikramaditya Singh went from Chandigarh to Delhi in the afternoon. Vikramaditya Singh met Priyanka Gandhi and KC Venugopal after returning from Delhi on March 3.
