Now human birds will also be seen flying from Dhungathar near Devidahad tourist spot in Nachan area of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. Following the recommendation of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali, the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department has notified Dhungathar paragliding site for tandem and solo flying.

Registered pilots will now be able to fly from this site. This will give wings to the tourism business.

There will be flights at Dhungathar paragliding site throughout the day. The team of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali, along with the team of Forest Department and Tourism Department, had conducted a successful trial of paragliding for the second time in Dhungathar.

Even before this, a trial of paragliding was conducted in Dhungathar during the previous Jairam Thakur government. When some flaws were found in it, instructions were issued to conduct trials again on Dhungathar paragliding site. A joint inspection of Dhungathar paragliding site was conducted in the presence of the technical team of the institute, District Tourism Officer Manoj Kumar and DFO Nachan SS Kashyap. In this, along with checking the wind direction at different times, other things were tested and the trial was successful.

Dhungathar will be the top take off site and landing will be near Jachchh. After the notification, operators will now be registered for this site. Which will fly tandem and solo here.

In tandem flying, the pilot takes off in a paraglider along with one other person and lands after spending time in the open sky as per a previously agreed time. In return the person pays a fixed amount to the pilot. In solo, only the pilot flies the paraglider.
