New Delhi: Pakistan Strikes Back: Retaliatory Operation ‘Marg Bar Sarmachar’ Targets Terrorist Hideouts in Iran.

In a swift response to Tehran’s attack on Jaish al-Adl’s headquarters on Pakistani soil, Pakistan conducted precision military strikes against alleged terrorist hideouts in Siestan-o-Baluchistan province of Iran. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry reported casualties among “a number of terrorists” during the intelligence-based operation, codenamed ‘Marg Bar Sarmachar.’ However, Iranian media sources indicate a different toll, reporting seven fatalities, including four children.

This tit-for-tat exchange follows Iran’s earlier assault on what they deemed ‘terrorist targets’ in Pakistan, an incident that Islamabad claims resulted in the deaths of two children. In an official statement, Pakistan reiterated its commitment to national security, describing the strikes as a manifestation of its unyielding resolve to safeguard its interests.

Despite the military action, Pakistan emphasized its respect for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, asserting that the operation aimed solely at addressing its own security concerns. The statement also highlighted Pakistan’s consistent communication with Iran, expressing serious apprehensions about safe havens and sanctuaries enjoyed by Pakistani-origin terrorists operating under the ‘Sarmachars’ banner within Iran’s ungoverned spaces.

Pakistan Takes Action: Strikes Back Against ‘Sarmachars’ Amid Tensions with Iran

Pakistan revealed that it had shared multiple dossiers containing concrete evidence of the presence and activities of the so-called ‘Sarmachars’ with Iran. Despite these efforts and due to the lack of action on their serious concerns, these individuals allegedly continued to harm innocent Pakistanis. The recent military action was reportedly based on credible intelligence pointing to impending large-scale terrorist activities by the same group.

The escalation follows Iran’s targeting of two bases belonging to Jaish al-Adl in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Pakistan condemned this as a “violation of its airspace” and warned of serious consequences, deeming it an illegal act that violates international law and the principles of the UN Charter. In response, Pakistan has recalled its ambassador from Iran, suspended ongoing high-level visits, and conveyed its intention to hold Iran responsible for the consequences of the alleged breach of sovereignty.

Jaish al-Adl, blacklisted by Iran as a terrorist group, has been active since 2012 and is known for carrying out attacks on Iranian soil. These recent events unfold against the backdrop of the Hamas-Israel conflict and increasing attacks on vessels in the Red Sea.
